Statewide by Zoom
Online Mediation Across California
Online mediation is not a separate category of dispute. It is a convenient and accessible way to deliver Cornerstone's Civil & Community, Workplace & Employment, Family, and Church & Faith-Based mediation services via Zoom.
A practical way to meet
Where appropriate, Zoom allows parties throughout California to take part from different locations without traveling to the same office. The mediation is still professionally facilitated, impartial, voluntary, and carefully structured so each participant has a fair opportunity to be heard.
Before an online session, the process, technology, privacy arrangements, and any documents needed will be discussed. Online mediation may be especially helpful where distance, mobility, work, caregiving, or scheduling makes in-person attendance more difficult.
Benefits of online mediation
- California statewide availability
- Less travel and easier scheduling
- Participation from different locations
- Accessibility for parties with mobility or distance constraints
- A confidential and structured process
- Private breakout conversations where appropriate
Four core services, available online where appropriate
Civil & Community Mediation
Practical, confidential support for disputes involving individuals, businesses, property owners, neighbors, and community groups.
Workplace & Employment Mediation
Neutral, confidential support for employment disputes, team conflict, communication breakdowns, and workplace relationships.
Family Mediation
A calm, compassionate setting for difficult family issues, relationship disputes, and constructive communication.
Church & Faith-Based Mediation
Sensitive, impartial support for conflict within churches, ministries, leadership teams, and faith communities.
Is online mediation appropriate?
Online mediation is considered individually. The nature of the dispute, participants' access to a private setting and reliable technology, and any safety or accessibility needs will all be taken into account. If Zoom is not suitable, an in-person format may be discussed. Mediation does not provide legal advice, determine who is right or wrong, or guarantee that an agreement will be reached.
Fees and Payment
Cornerstone Mediation Services offers a complimentary initial consultation to discuss the nature of the dispute and whether mediation may be appropriate.
Mediation fees are discussed and agreed in advance and may depend on factors such as the nature of the matter, number of parties, format, and anticipated time required. A deposit may be required before a mediation session is reserved. Full payment arrangements will be explained before the mediation begins.
Please contact Cornerstone Mediation Services to discuss your matter and the most appropriate next step.
